Caltha LLP Project Summary

Project: Industrial Storm Water Permitting and SPCC Rule Compliance
Client: National Control Equipment Manufacture
Location(s): Tennessee

Key Elements: Industrial stormwater permitting, SWPPP preparation, SPCC Plan preparation and certification

Overview: Caltha provided technical services to this national pump and flow manufacturing facility to comply with the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation industrial stormwater permit. Services included preparing facility stormwater pollution prevention plans, preparation of TDEC application forms (Notice of Intent), and preparation of site-specific inspection checklists to comply with Tennessee inspection requirements applicable to this industrial sector. Work was completed using Caltha’s State SWPPP template, prepared to meet the requirements under the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation industrial stormwater discharge general permit.

In addition, the facility exceeded thresholds for on-site oil storage capacity that made it subject to the Federal SPCC Rules (40 CFR 112). Caltha prepared a Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan for the site to conform to SPCC rules as well as Tennessee DEC spill prevention and spill notification requirements. The SPCC Plan was certified by a Tennessee licensed professional engineer. Caltha then provided ad hoc technical support to facility to address questions during roll-out of the compliance programs for both industrial stormwater discharges and SPCC rule.
