The Arizona Senate Natural Resources, Energy and Water Committee introduced a bill that would allow the state to assume primacy for the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) Underground Injection Control Program. Because the bill doe not have identical federal and state language for some portions of the bill, it is expected that the bill will be amended to conform to federal language and requirements. An amendment with these technical corrections is also expected to be introduced on February 5, 2018.
